c.1953 Gilbert, American Flyer No. 460 Lamp Assortment
Includes 42 of 54 original, unused, glass replacement lamps for Gilbert, American Flyer trains and equipment from the No.460 Lamp Assortment Kit. Nine different lamp styles come in their original die cut display box with die cut insert. Each style is numbered in vertical rows. The display box was printed using the traditional 1950's American Flyer pale yellow and navy blue colors. It has a hinged cover with die cut fold-up display of a large circular lamp. Printed on the cover are the nine different types of enclosed lamps along with their catalog numbers, voltages, and specific equipment use. The original retail price for each lamp was written in grease pencil. The sides of the box show the American Flyer logo and catalog number of the assortment. Lamps (clear, green, and red) are all glass with brass finished socket. Lamp style 461 (along the right edge) are circular with a flattened dimple at the tip. All are intact and have never been used.
